Reduce content in 2021 A-level exams

Reduce content in 2021 A-level exams
The Issue
With both GCSE and A-level exams cancelled for Year 11 and 13 respectively, Year 12’s have been left expected to teach themselves A-level content from home.
A-levels are already notoriously challenging, and each student will have struggles of their own. Bereavement, mental health battles, or caring responsibilities are just a few of the many problems that students all over the country may be facing during these difficult times.
It would be incredibly beneficial if the amount of content appearing in our A-level exams next year is reduced.
The omission of even just a few topics would not only alleviate the pressures of Year 12 students revising for A-level exams next year, but it would also help teachers in using our lesson time in Year 13 to catch up with missed content.
Furthermore, less content in our exams next year will maximise students’ potential. If we have less content to revise, we will be more motivated to revise the relevant content and it will ensure the exams are fair since some students will have received more help from their schools in the pandemic than others.
We are living in unprecedented times, and thus unprecedented measures like these are vital for ensuring students are not underachieving in exams next year.
