Employee's who work's at OCTAPHARMA PLASMA, should get hazarduous pay, during coronavirus.

The Issue

We the people at Octapharma Plasma, during this time of a scary pandemic we stay open to produce life saving medications for those who depend on our medications that plasma can help treat. During the CORONAVIRUS every one is supposed to be within 6 ft of one another "social distancing." At Plasma and blood centers its unrealistc.  Plasma and blood donation centers are considered essentral to many people who depends on it. The employees at Octapharma Plasma, we risk our health by still coming to work 7 days a wk and open for about 12 to 14 hours a day to help keep making life saving medication. Our donors come back as well in support and risking themselfs to help us stay open.  We rely on the donors-honesty as well that they are healthy and have not had the covid-19 for them to be suitable to participate in donating plasma. We also think donors should get a small incentive pay for the ones who have been still participating for the time that the covid-19 pandemic has started. As a gratitude of thank you, because without them we would not be open and they are taking a risk as well. Every employee here is putting there self at risk and then going home to there family and love ones hoping they are not putting them at risk. Octapharma is an essential business for the public. Every Octapharma employee has to literally stand next to the donor. Whether its screening them, sticking there vein, assisting them when they feel sick or the nurses doing there physicals. Every employee here has some kind of close contact with a donor that is less than 6ft apart. Anyone can get tested for the coronavirus and pass ,but can carry the virus. They can have No signs or symotoms at all and still give it to other people. However reasurch and studies has shown that people who are asymptomatic can be transmitters of covid-19.  We understand that with many coworkers who are frantic and emotionally wary about the situation, "management and the center director" of the facility has been very understanding  of why most employees are not coming into work. They do show kindness and sympathy for the employees. If the center director was able to have full power to show some kind of incentive for hazardous pay they would do it in a heart beat. They are as well frantic as much as we are but they show us strength and courage. But, because (management and the center director) they have No control to hazardous pay due to "corporate" not having understanding or not listening to our feelings, there is only so much they can do to feel the empty void we have in our minds and hearts for some of us to still be working the front lines. Some of us keep working to help keep making life saving medications as well as our donors who are also helping us. The employees of Octapharma Plasma and the donors are heroes to those in tough times as these who still needs this life saving medication just so they can still have a chance to strive with there life. What we like at Octapharm Plasma Center, is some kind of hazardous pay (it doesn't  have to much) and safer N95 respriatory face masks. We the coworkers of Octapharma Plasma is working during this pandemic of the covid-19 as a team and as a family together to supply medication that is essential. We stand on the front lines. We want HAZARDOUS PAY and N95 respirators. It's okay for the donors to have masks but for us who are medical technitions we need respirators with proper N95 certifications.
