In 1954, the CIA led a violent coup to overthrow Jacobo Arbenz Guzman, the democratically elected president of Guatemala. Because of this unwarranted action, Guatemala has had 50+ years full of violence and civil bloodshed. More than 200,000 of students, workers, professionals, farmers and non-combatants have been killed, and more than one million people have become refugees. The country has never been the same since.

Please sign this petition to ask President Barack Obama to follow the precedent of the current Guatemalan Government and apologize for their actions of 1954.
