This is a petition to save our " OAKLANDS " , Oaklands in Rogerstone, Newport is used as a safe home for a wide range of children with disabilities.

Not only to give these children and young adults a safe Environment where they can go and have  time away from there parents and carers but also to give parents a couple hours respite .The only respite that is available to us parents in Newport and surrounding areas.

Newport city council that runs Oaklands apparently need to make a 485k  saving on the cost and running of this much needed home.

If these cuts were made,  it would not only mean the staff of this wonderful place, cutting or losing there jobs but most importantly the much loved Disabled Children losing there adapted home, Where are they going to go for there respite ? ,Nowhere is the answer , as there is no other place in Newport that provides this service. 

So we need to act now and sign this petition to stop the closure of this much needed home and let Newport city council know  that we will not stand by and let it happen ! .
