On that fateful night of 3 August 2005 NSW Police immediately presumed that Adam committed suicide by jumping from the roof of the Cronulla building. For the first 48 hours following Adam’s death I cried, then questioned how did he get onto the roof? On Friday 5 August I phoned Senior Constable Paul Massey advising him that there were too many inconsistencies surrounding Adam's death. Adam definitely did not commit suicide, nor did he ever get onto the roof, my concerns simply fell on deaf ears.
It’s interesting to note that in the NSW Police Handbook, Updated February 05, Page 147 clearly states: Suicides Do not presume suicide and bear in mind evidence presented to the coroner must be sufficient to conclusively prove it.
Deputy State Coroner Paul MacMahon subsequently handed down his findings on 1/2/2008 Adam Cecil died on 3 August 2005 at Sutherland Hospital. His death was the result of multiple injuries sustained when he jumped from the roof of 3 Ozone Street, Cronulla with the intention of taking his own life.
Supreme Court of NSW Judge Hidden handed down his finding on 4/10/2012 Findings of coroner quashed, new inquest ordered
Nor did Adam jump from a height as handed down by Deputy State Coroner HCB Dillon in the second Coronial Inquest on 29/8/2013 I find that Adam Cecil died on 3 August 2005 at Sutherland Hospital, Miranda, New South Wales as a result of multiple injuries suffered due to a fall from height. I am unable to determine how that fall came about.
