Up to March 2017 (and hopefully it will be withdrawn before) you have absolutely NO requirement to provide ID .. EVEN if you commit an offence - as that's the LAW. AFTER March 2017, if the preposterous ideato carry ID is not withdrawn, if a police officer asks you for your ID, reply by asking "Have I committed an offence?" If not, do NOT supply your ID and stick to your right to privacy.
