Support Law Enforcement. Reject Mass Surveillance.

Here in the Ozarks, we believe in looking out for our neighbors. We also believe in minding our own business.

Flock cameras cross that line.

These ALPR cameras are mass surveillance. They track vehicles traveling our roads and build searchable records of people's movements, not because they've committed a crime or are suspected of one, but simply because they drove past a camera.

That means innocent, law-abiding Ozark County residents can have their movements recorded, stored, and searched without ever being accused of wrongdoing. We don't need Big Tech keeping tabs on where our neighbors go.

We believe in traditional, trustworthy law enforcement: local officers and deputies who know our communities, investigate crimes, protect their neighbors, and answer to the people they serve.

That's how we keep Ozark County safe. Not by putting cameras along our roads and treating every passing vehicle like something that needs to be tracked.

The Fourth Amendment protects Americans against unreasonable searches and government intrusion. Those protections don't disappear just because new technology makes mass surveillance easier.

Benjamin Franklin famously warned:

“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

That's a principle worth standing up for here in the Ozarks.

We, the undersigned, call on Ozark County and our local law enforcement agencies to reject Flock cameras and oppose mass ALPR surveillance in our communities.

Spend our tax dollars on local officers, deputies, first responders, and the people who actually keep our communities safe. Don't spend them building a surveillance state to watch the people they're supposed to serve.

Support local law enforcement. Defend the Fourth Amendment. Keep Big Tech surveillance out of Ozark County.
