The Issue

Oklahoma’s mental health system is already stretched thin — and now it’s at risk of being gutted.

Recent reports have revealed a $43 million shortfall at the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

At a time when mental health crises are rising, and rural and underserved communities depend on local clinics for care, cutting funding or shutting down programs would devastate thousands of Oklahomans.

We call on Governor Kevin Stitt and the Oklahoma Legislature to fully fund the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

Protect existing mental health clinics and community-based care programs!

Mental health care is health care. And in Oklahoma, it’s a lifeline that too many people already struggle to access.
