Mrs. Larson, one of our 8th-grade language arts teachers, has been forced to leave Canyon Vista because members of her family have health issues and returning to school is not an option that she can safely take at this time.

Because of Covid-19, we have been given the option to go to school virtually or return to school, but because we are starting to rotate and go to all of our classes, teachers formerly teaching us safely and virtually are now required to go back to school. 

The unfairness of requiring teachers who themselves have health problems or family members at high risk due to Covid-19 led me to create this petition to give her the option to safely continue teaching virtually.  Mrs. Larson is one of the many teachers that have been affected because of this global pandemic and it is only fair that if students get the CHOICE between learning virtually or returning to school, so should teachers.

Mrs. Larson teaches Language Arts, and in the 5 months since I received the opportunity to be one of her students, I have enjoyed and learned so much more during class. She is extremely kind and allows everyone in the class to share, express, and discuss their thoughts about the topics we learn about. Mrs. Larson loves to teach, and in her words, "Teaching middle school English Language Arts is my dream job! I love sharing my love for reading and writing with my students." 

I am asking you today to please sign this petition so Mrs. Larson can keep living her dream, and continue sharing knowledge and joy with the students of Canyon Vista.
