The Issue

Attention BHSM residents:
The BHSM Council is scheduled to consider the revised data center ordinances on June 9 at 9:00 AM. Many residents have expressed concern that the meeting time was changed with little public notice, making it more difficult for working citizens to attend and participate.
The proposed ordinance revisions could have long-term impacts on every resident of our community. Among the concerns raised by citizens are:
• Reduced opportunities for public input on future projects. • Changes to setback and buffer requirements intended to separate industrial-scale facilities from homes and neighborhoods. • Increased flexibility for future data center development that could affect nearby property owners. • Limitations on local oversight and public participation once projects enter the approval process.
These ordinances will shape how future large-scale developments are handled in BHSM for years to come. Whether you support or oppose data centers, every resident should be concerned about maintaining transparency, public participation, and meaningful protections for neighborhoods.
Please attend the June 9 meeting and make your voice heard. Decisions of this magnitude should be made with full public involvement, not with reduced participation.
The future of our community depends on it
