Mirfield Rail station is the 3rd busiest in the Kirklees district , and the only station in the borough with a direct link to London.

Facilities at the station are deplorable with steep stepped access to platforms ,poor security, not opportunity to buy tickets,no warm waiting areas, and grossly inadequate car parking provision

For a thriving economic borough ,increased passenger comfort and to alleviate road safety concerns & disruption for Mirfield residents urgent investment is needed
