Hey everyone, this is Canadian K-Drama fan Brandon Vethanayagam and today I want to explain on why we need to get a 2nd season of the new hit post-apocalyptic K-Drama series "Sweet Home'!!!

The weekend before Christmas 2020 was truly one to remember where most of us spent the weekend binge watching the new Netflix K-Drama based on the webtoon of the same name “Sweet Home”.  The new Korean Netflix drama has really proved once again that Korean post-apocalyptic dramas are replacing Canadian & American post-apocalyptic dramas in regards to plot quality and emotional impact!!! Plus 2020 has definitely been the year to relate to post-apocalyptic fiction since COVID-19 lockdown made us relate to being in a post-apocalyptic world on other post-apocalyptic dramas and movies such as “Peninsula” & “#Alive”. The survivors in the “Sweet Home” have really transformed on how we enjoy post-apocalyptic fiction and evolved the traditional roles of key post-apocalyptic characters. For example, we have super religious, devout Christian, Jung Jae-heon, who instead of sitting on the sidelines like most religious characters, he actually did a good portion of the group’s fighting with his katana. Next we have Han Du-sik, a crippled man on a wheelchair who was still able to prove his worth by using his engineering expertise to develop weapons for the survivors to use to fight against the monsters. Finally we have former firefighter & Special Forces soldier Seo Yi-kyeong who was basically like the Korean version of Resident Evil’s Alice who definitely doesn’t let any hardship take her down and doesn’t hesitate using her skills to fight any enemy … human or monster!!! Each of the characters had their own unique characteristic(s) that really dug deep into the core of this drama!!! Plus after the big cliffhanger that season 1 ended in we need a season 2 to progress and improve the plotline even further to see how this monster apocalypse is resolved!!!

Possible plot lines that can be explored in season 2 include:

§  A way to reverse the “monsterization” curse!!!

§  Cha Hyun-soo finding peace and leading the charge once again against the monsters that are truly evil with the other survivors!!!

§  Finding more people like Hyun-soo that can control the “monsteriaztion” transformation!!!

§  Reunion between all the season 1 survivors!!!

§  Meeting new survivors!!!

§  Seo Yi-kyeong reunites with her fiancée or at least find out what happened to him!!!

§  More involvement and scenes relating to the South Korean military’s response to the monster apocalypse!!!

Therefore, raise your voice to both Netflix to give us a 2nd season of “Sweet Home” because there’s so much potential for the characters and amazing plotline in this series in post-apocalyptic Korea!!!
