Hi parents of Nechako Elementary!

I’m starting this petition to hopefully get as many signatures of parents that have a child or children within the school that would like them to be apart of a mental health/bullying assembly.

It’s been brought to my attention plenty of times that within certain grades there has been a lot of bullying, gossip, talk of suicide. Do I think these children really mean they want to take their own lives? No. I’m very certain this has become what you would call a “trend” and I want it to stop. The gossip, rumours, bullying and kids just being mean has got to stop as well.

I’ve had extensive conversations with parents and the principal and it just seems these issues are getting worse.

I will be phoning multiple resources within the community to help speak at the assembly but first and foremost I need the parents to be on board as well! I will wait 2 weeks for signatures and bring it forward to the principal. 

I’m sure every parent out there does not want to have to deal with conversations of their children saying they want to commit suicide to other children. I’m sure every parent out there doesn’t want to be told their child is being a bully or the victim. Please help me show our children this is not okay!
