NBA must take action against unfair officiating

We, the undersigned fans, respectfully call on the NBA to take stronger action to ensure consistent and fair officiating throughout the league, especially during high-stakes games and playoff games against the OKC thunder.
Basketball fans invest enormous time, passion, and financial support into the sport. In return, we expect games to be decided by skill, strategy, and effort — not inconsistent whistles, overlooked dangerous plays, or unequal enforcement of league rules.
In recent seasons, many fans have expressed concern regarding:
Inconsistent foul calls and non-calls
Unequal treatment of physical defensive play.
Lack of accountability for repeated reckless or overly aggressive conduct (Lu Dort’s history of injuring opposing players)
Perceived favoritism affecting competitive integrity
Specifically, players such as Lu Dort who has an history of deliberately injuring opponents and Hartenstein who held wembanyama by his arm to prevent him from getting rebounds, pulled Castle down by grabbing his hair which could lead to serious injury and have drawn criticism from fans for physical plays that many believe exceed acceptable competitive standards. We ask the league to thoroughly review incidents involving excessive contact and enforce rules consistently regardless of player, team, or market size.
This petition is not about targeting individuals unfairly. Basketball is a physical sport, and competitive intensity should always be respected. However, repeated dangerous or reckless actions must carry meaningful consequences in order to protect players and preserve trust in the game.
We urge the NBA to:
Improve officiating transparency and accountability
Punish players who “flop” to gain an advantage.
Expand postgame referee review explanations
Enforce equal standards for physical play across all teams
Increase fines or suspensions for repeat reckless conduct
Prioritize player safety and competitive fairness above ratings or narratives
Fans deserve confidence that every game is officiated fairly and consistently.
We support competitive basketball. We support physical defense. But above all, we support integrity, safety, and fairness in the NBA.
