Having submissions and deadlines on weekends is one thing. But having it on public holidays is a completely different thing that I feel is unfair to all students. What is the rationale of putting a deadline on a public holiday? According to the Holidays Act, every Singaporean is entitled to 11 Public holidays. Workers will get extra pay if they need to work. Schools will be given an off in lieu, if it happens to fall on a week end. But what about us University students who are not allowed to enjoy the full benefits of this entitlement? I would personally like there to be change regarding this matter. University students also deserve to enjoy holidays and festivals with the ones we care about. Not working on assignments.
