It is noticeable that when there's a calamity, commonly typhoon, college student are exempted to the announcements of no classes. As a user of social media, I have read some posts of my known college friends and relatives saying that they're not waterproof to go to school and attend class. They are affected by the typhoon too yet they are not included to the suspensions of classes. If they choose not to attend the class, of course they will be left behind the lessons. However, there are times when they're included but most of the time is not. 

It impacts the parents or guardians of the college students where they're to think about the safety of their children. For the college student, themselves, they are confused of what to do since the options are both their priorities. 

As a solution, local government units or the national government should consider college students whenever they are to announce no classes because of the typhoon or flood. CHEd should be aware of this problem since they are the agency handling tertiary students. The agency should promote the safety and security of their students. 

Again, College students are not waterproof.
