We are aiming to put forward a strong message that Wushu & Sanshou is a growing sport here in the Uk and many talented people for all over the country and within Europe and worldwide are dedicatedly practicing this sport. As a result it clearly deserves a place in the Olympic selection.

This year Wushu and Sanshou came very close to selection it was short listed for the Olympics, but as they decided to reinstate wrestling, Wushu was unfortunately knocked out. Now the next chance for Wushu for the Olympics would be in 2024.

Peter Warr from the IWF stated to us that “Wushu needs more public awareness” and so to follow on from his statement we want to actively encourage the process, therefore our aim is to support Wushu and Sanda for Olympic selection for the future, and to actively promoting Wushu/ Chinese Martial arts Traditional and Contempary awareness through our regional competition and active petitions.
