BILL 216: Food Literacy for Students Act 2020

BILL 216: Food Literacy for Students Act 2020
The Food Policy Council of KFL&A is proud to promote Bill 216, Food Literacy for Students Act, which is currently being tabled in the Ontario Provincial Legislature. The Bill will amend the Ontario Education Act to include experiential food literacy* education in the provincial school curriculum. When it comes into effect, students in Grade 1 to 12 will have the opportunity to grow and prepare healthy food and learn about the food system. A central aim of this Bill is to promote a secure and sustainable food system in Ontario.
To ensure Bill 216 successfully passes its third and final reading, we are asking for endorsements from organizations and health professionals from across the province. We would greatly appreciate if you and/or your organization would formally endorse Bill 216. We will share our list of endorsing individuals and organizations with MPP Daryl Kramp, who we are working with to move this Private Members Bill forward.
Thank you!
Food Policy Council for KLF&A
