Many people are on the fence about the new covid vaccines including medical professionals, students, and employees. More importantly, medical decisions should be the choice of every individual, no matter who they are, as we are FREE in America and are not controlled by a communist government - allowing these mandates and for our rights to be taken away is the beginning of totalitarian government and control, but with your help we can stops this. The mandate in unconstitutional and unlawful. Our veterans and brave soldiers went to war and died for our freedoms. We should be allowed to exercise them accordingly.

In addition, it is causing students like myself to lose their education when we have worked so hard to get here. After everything we’ve all been through from the beginning of this pandemic, we should all support one another rather than discriminate and segregate one another due to different opinions for ourselves and OUR OWN BODIES. “My body my choice” does not only apply to reproductive rights, and medical choices should only be made by medical professionals rather than educators, the media, and/or politicians that use propaganda and fear tactics as we have seen all throughout history time and time again.

Please sign to help me and my classmates fight for our rights to complete our education and graduate this Spring. We are seniors at Monroe College and are being told to transfer to different colleges and take our education rather than receiving the support we need through at least some kind of accommodation(s) in order to receive our diplomas in the next two semesters. Although I have asked, recommended, and offered to provide help and resources for such accommodations, I have been shut down as well as many of my other friends (vaccinated and unvaccinated) to inquiring virtual options or alternative mandate protocols for on campus students, such as weekly covid tests, informative health workshops, face masks, social distancing, and hourly sanitation/cleaning policies. Lastly, after being denied by multiple faculty members, the dean of the education program, and those above her, I am asking that others help me fight for my rights as I also have medical and religious reasoning to exempt from the vaccine also. However, they are only allowing ONE religion to exempt and disregarding all others, while also denying my health concerns since I do not have recent evidence and documentation to prove my medical concerns until my upcoming appointment on September 27th. I was told that I cannot go on campus even if I wore a face covering and got tested until I had solid proof on the 27th, which means I will fail the on campus course for missing two to three weeks of school until then since there is an attendance policy that students lose a letter grade for every three absences. Thank you to everyone’s support and help so far, and thank you in advance to future supporters, it means the world to me!
