Defund Animal Experimentation

Defund Animal Experimentation
The Issue
Most of us are not aware of how prevalent animal testing is. We get the idea of it, but we aren't really informed about it. We don't know that each year there are more than 100 million animals tested and killed in laboratories for science experiments. We don't know that even with all of the animals being tested, we still aren't close to finding a cure for cancer. We don't know know cruel the animal testing can be.
We don't know that these projects are being funded by a majority our taxpayer money: each year, $12 billion out of the roughly $30 billion of our tax dollars go to the National Institutes of Health for "animal socialized science." The most frustrating part about this is that nothing good is coming out of the animal testing. After the experiment is formed, the testers will simply write papers on results that are not actually discovering anything new or even close to worth the detriment the animals endure for it.
I am not an advocate of animal testing in any form and I want it abolished, but I understand that some people may disagree with me while deeming it appropriate in certain cicrumstances, making it a long shot for me to gain ground on such a movement. Thus, this is not a petition to end animal testing all together; rather, my mission is to form a coalition between animal lovers and liberty lovers and take action. This is a petition to stop the public funding of animal testing. We should not be paying for it. If the animal testing were successful, investors on Wall Street would eat it up. Obviously these expirements are not worth the private funding of investors, so why should we keep spending our money on inhumane animal experiments that are not discovering anything?
