School's discrimination against children with locs in Jamaica

A prominent primary school in Portmore is looking to deny a child a spot at the school after being accepted and registered from April 2018. The parents of the child have since then turned down many other great institutions because their child got into the well sought after school. Now in July 2018, the parents are now being told (even after seeing the child's photographs and doing an assessment with the child in person months ago) that she either has to take down or cut off her locs or risk having to find another school to send the child to. Now at this point in time, that option is deemed impossible as at this time most schools are closed from accepting children for the 2018/2019 school year.
