Hi all,

Just an update to say that our little dog "Carrie" had a good night and is resting in her bed now, she is trying to stand but this takes time!. She is not eating at the moment. I don't know how much damage she has to her heart and lungs from the heartworm but we will have to see how she gets on.

Also, unfortunately PAN did not do too well in the Regional Elections of Madeira on Sunday 22nd September, and only managed to get 2,000+ votes, so it's business as usual as the PSD party won with 54,000 votes although they didn't get an overall majority this time as the PS party (Socialist) were a close second with 52,000 votes.

Becausee of this result, this petition will not go anywhere towards changing the law in Madeira regarding the stray dogs as only PAN would make that difference. Therefore, i contacted the PAN lawyer, Joao Frietas and asked him how we could raise money to support these stray dogs and he said that we could join forces and do this together, so i am meeting with him in Madeira early 0ctober to discuss this.

This petition will help with gaining more support for this cause and people will be able to see how many people support this already as we have now reached 12K.
