I have just been reading the latest blog on Madeira Island News about the local priest in the Monte district, who went on holiday recently and turned his two dogs out onto the streets to fend for themselves. He also changed the locks so that no one else could let them into his house.

This has caused outrage amongst the locals of Monte as this is a person who is supposed to set an example but sadly has not! The poor dogs have been locked out of their home and local people have had to feed and look after them. They are also filing complaints to the PSP and want this man to loose his job, they say!!
