Hello everyone. At Nine Thirty Five we completed day one of our petition. And the result was amazing. We have, as of when I am writing this, 300 signatures. Most of these signatures are from Leavenworth, but certainly not all of them. We have had people from New York, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Tennessee, California and more!!! I created this petition because I was hurting. All of my family members in attendance were very upset that they were denied entry into The main gym. I thought that I was one of the unlucky ones. What I have discovered is that, while I was not Lucky, I was Certainly not unlucky. One of my favorite parts of this petition is that everyone has an opportunity to tell why it is important to them. I believe that this can be read from any computer, what I do know is that it is not on the mobile site. Your stories, whether it happened to you or to a friend, are heartbreaking. There are two 'Advocacy' actions that I would encourage everyone to take. The first would be to call the School Board tomorrow morning. They Open at 7:30, but If you have work before then, they do have a voicemail that they do check. The second is that this Wednesday, May 20th there is a board meeting. The Meeting starts at 6pm in the Office of the Board of Education on 4th Street. This is a link to the Agenda http://www.boarddocs.com/ks/usd453/Board.nsf/Public I would encourage you to attend. I will be bringing this Petition, along with all of the comments and signatures. That is all for tonight. Thank you, all 300 of you
