Ms. Carolyn P. Hill was the first principal and instructional leader of Dr. Paul L. Sheehy Elementary School in Tampa, FL. As the principal of the school, she ensured that every stakeholder-educator, parent, or community member did what was “good and right for children”. To honor her, this petition is being set forth to gain approval from the Hillsborough County School Board to name the current media center at Sheehy the Carolyn P. Hill Media Center.  

As an active member of the community, Ms. Hill advocated for the rights of all children. In particular, she advocated for students to receive quality instruction from highly qualified educators. She was a strong proponent of best practice in all classrooms for all students regardless of their socioeconomic and/or academic status.

Because of Ms. Hill’s tireless commitment to educators and student learning, devotion to the education profession, and service to the Sheehy Elementary community, your support is needed to ensure the naming of the the Sheehy Elementary School Media Center to the Carolyn P. Hill Media Center in her honor.
