Meals Tax Waiver- NH during COVID-19

Meals Tax Waiver- NH during COVID-19
The Issue
On March 16, 2020, Chris Sununu- Governor of New Hampshire, announced that the State of New Hampshire is prohibiting scheduled public gatherings over 50 people and transitioning restaurants and bars to mandatory offsite eating effective at close of business today- Monday, March 16, 2020.
All restaurants and bars within New Hampshire are still able to continue offering food for take-out and delivery provided they follow the protocols for social distancing - staying 6 feet apart.
Unfortunately, this all still comes with extra costs for many restaurants, and bars are unable to produce any revenue at all. Regardless, at this time with little to no income for many people in and out of the restaurant, meal's tax should be waived.
This will enable restaurants to provide food at a lower cost, as well as avoid being hit with a hefty meals tax bill in the upcoming days.
Please help support your small business owners and their staff during this time!!
