Students are finding it incredibly difficult to manage their workload remotely as the structure for several courses and the quality of learning is not the same as it would be on campus. As students, we should have the opportunity to request non-numerical grades for the courses that impact our GPA since the experience of learning for us amid at least the first semester online is difficult to manage. With this option, students can request a "Pass" grade so that their GPA is not affected by a poor grade that is there because of their inability to learn effectively during this pandemic. If a student does not successfully pass a course, they can request a "No Credit" grade instead and it will be excluded from their GPA. The final option is replacing a grade and excluding the mark towards their GPA as "Late Withdrawal", so long as they have not completed or attempted the final exam. This is an unprecedented time for us students to be learning and teachers to be teaching like this, and yet we are attempting to as best as possible, we should at least have the option to request these non-numeric grades for at least the Fall 2020 semester, our first time going completely online.
