McCracken County undeclared disaster Andy Beshear/FEMA petition
The Issue
This petition is written for the people of Kentucky in McCracken County that seem to have been passed Over and ignored in terms of the disaster that took place.
Disaster code Area- 4860 (Given to me by FEMA)
On Sunday Morning, April 6th, 2025 12:22AM
I called Paducah’s non emergency number two times within 10 minute intervals for general information going on in our area and to see if they had any evacuation orders issued or any information available to them ,they said no nothing‘s been issued and everything was fine for our area. My friend also called them and got the same answers.
Nobody had raised any major concern due to our yards and fields looking as normal as they normally do during rains and such, so nothing looked alerting to anybody in the entire area.
Shortly after those calls I could physically see the water rising inches every minute from the yard, so I made the call to evacuate everyone in my house and the animals. If we did not leave when we did, we would’ve been trapped and our lives would’ve been in danger, we had to drive through almost 4 feet of water.
This disaster, is not just for me. It’s for the entire street and neighborhoods around. My next-door neighbor whose husband just recently died told me she woke up at 3 AM to water halfway through her window needed to grab her baby, son and daughter and literally swim out of the house to the road which is over 100 feet. They also lost everything.
Everyone has been boating in and boating out for days now trying to grab what we can and salvage what is left of our homes. We have literally lost everything in our homes are basically destroyed in this entire area and yeah, it has somehow been skipped over as if it doesn’t exist and is not a disaster. I am seeing on multiple social media platforms that the area isn’t being taken serious or even spoken of to any serious matter.
I called FEMA to file my claim for some assistance and got denied almost instantly next day. If not same day about it not being (Declared a disaster), which is a complete joke, and I am seeing that it is happening to others as well so let’s see if we can get enough attention to remind them of what is going on in their city and the people they are ignoring. I’m trying to bring this to Andy Bezner‘s attention to push for a federal disaster approval.
