The Toronto Transit Commission has developed a RapidTO transit initiative, where bus and bike-only lanes have been created with the goal of shortening the travel time to Kennedy Station.  Part of this initiative saw the removal of surface route stops, such as the ones at Dale Avenue/Livingston Road & Kingston Road.  These stops have been heavily populated during morning and evening commutes and are in the vicinity of two high-rise apartment buildings, one of which houses a childcare centre. Commuters are now required to meet the bus, quite a distance away, at the Guildwood Parkway & Kingston Road intersection.  The two new Express buses that utilize the route, the 905 Eglinton East Express and the 986 Scarborough Express, do not stop at the Guildwood Parkway & Kingston Road stop.  To access these Express buses. commuters are forced to walk even further along Kingston Road, over the CN/GO Train bridge, to the next nearest stop.  With winter approaching, and snow, sleet and freezing rain covering our sidewalks, the trek to one of these bus stops will come with extreme challenges to people, especially our seniors and those with young children.  I am encouraging everyone to lend your voice to have the stops at Dale Avenue/Livingston Road & Kingston Road reinstated.  By signing this petition and sharing it with our elected officials and TTC Board Members, you are supporting the need for having this stop reinstated. People like you have voiced their concerns about the needing to keep bus stops active within the Scarborough community; these voices have helped to reinstate several previously removed stops along Eglinton.  Please take a moment to add your voice.
