With the entire province of Manitoba going into the red, everything is closing or is suppose to run at 25% capacity. But yet schools and daycares are to remain open due to low transmission rates. Schools and daycares may have low transmission rates, however what happens if your child goes to school and there is a case of COVID-19 in their cohort? What then; the entire household needs to self isolate until results come back, which lately has been longer than usual. Our health care system is becoming drained, teachers are drained, children are becoming drained. This petition is to have all schools and daycares close due to the province going into the red. Why put our kids at risk? Transmission is not low in schools! Shut them down, do this right!! Global released a list of possible exposure to COVID-19, on that list, there are a total of 138 schools that are included. A lot of these schools have had multiple exposures. College Louis-Riel is the only known school to have completed shut down due to an outbreak! But yet according to Palliser and Roussin, transmission rates are “low”. How does it make sense that a school bus driver can drive other children, but they can’t even see their own children or grandchildren? Let’s make some noise and let them know that this isn’t acceptable! Close the schools and daycares
