The issue

Mango Hill State School have currently beautiful, welcoming and always happy lollipop ladies who safely guide our children and also adults in and out of school grounds.

Currently the school will be projected to have 1500 students for 2021, from years prep to year 6.

So at the moment the school is in the process of building a 9 million dollar hall to host parades ect in as the one currently on the school grounds is too small.

As of this year, lollipop ladies were hired to direct children and adults in and out of school grounds safely each and every day rain hail or sun.

Last year teacher aides were directing students, parents and traffic and the balance was just not there. The teacher aides were struggling to balance both roles, so Mango Hill State School decided to employ some lovely ladies to have that as their role (lollipop lady).

Now the school has not had adequate assistance for children who need extra support, there are a few families struggling and desperate for help for their child/children. But somehow now the school has funding for a super expensive hall? And now the devastating news that our beautiful lollipop ladies are being “let go” due to lack of funding.
And that they will be replaced with teacher aides, now that doesn’t make any sense whatsoever!

Taking away teacher aides when there needs to already be more, more support in classes!

These beautiful lollipop ladies, are a massive part of our school community! And their role not only is for safety, but also helps them to pay their bills ect and gives them a great sense on fulfilment at the same time.

This is completely unfair and makes no sense at all.

Please sign and share  this petition to have their jobs kept as they are and not to be “let go”!
