As a woman in the workforce, I am deeply affected by the pay disparity that persists between men and women. In New Jersey, women are paid only 83 cents to every 1 dollar men make. This has been an issue for decades and still there have been no major changes done to find a resolution for this.

This is not just about me, but about all women who work hard and deserve equal pay for equal work. It's time we address this injustice head-on. The gender wage gap is more than just numbers; it represents systemic inequality that affects us all - our families, our economy, and our society.

According to the National Partnership for Women & Families, if the annual wage gap were eliminated, on average, a working woman in New Jersey would have enough money for approximately 14 more months of child care or nearly one additional year of tuition at a four-year public university.
