Make World's First HIV Prevention Shot Free For All

The Issue

The FDA just approved a groundbreaking HIV prevention shot—Yeztugo—that only needs to be taken twice a year. This could be a game-changer in ending the HIV epidemic.

But here’s the catch: it costs more than $28,000 per year. That price puts it far out of reach for the people who need it most. We can’t let a medical breakthrough become a privilege for the wealthy.

Only a fraction of Americans who could benefit from HIV prevention are actually using it, and communities most at risk—Black, Latino, Southern, rural, and LGBTQ+—already face barriers to care. Now, some of those same groups are seeing their HIV prevention funding cut. That’s unacceptable.

We’re calling on Congress and the Trump administration to secure federal funding so that Yeztugo is free or low-cost for anyone who needs it, regardless of insurance status or income.

We have the science to stop HIV transmission. What we need now is the political will to make it accessible to everyone.

Let’s not waste this opportunity. Sign and share if you believe HIV prevention should be a right, not a luxury.
