Who is impacted?

This impacts the Daily Wire community in particular, but it affects everyone who might join up as well. In recent years, the DW has been bringing on various conservative voices (PragerU, Jordan Peterson, Candice Owens, Donald Trump, etc) and expanding the scope of their media empire. I'm happy to put my money behind this effort to win back the culture with a subscription, but the technological interface is just plain embarrassing. The recent public debacle with Steven Crowder shows that the DW has the funds to continue to expand, but I think it is very important to have the basics covered.

The App and website is very slow and glitchy. I've had several issues, but the latest one was during the Matt Walsh member's block. Right before Matt was going to answer a very interesting question, playback crashed. The app does not save your place on the playback. Maybe it's a lot to ask to have the player work like YouTube, but what is the motivation to go to the App if YouTube does the playback better and more reliably?

I suspect that iOS has something to do with this, as does all of the technology platforms that the DW relies on to deliver their message. These platforms contain elements of competing ideology highly motivated to stand in the way of the DW spreading its message. But this is an obstacle that the DW knows how to overcome, as evidenced by the fact that they are still on YouTube.

As evidence that this isn't just a "me" problem, every time I share this with DW-associated FaceBook groups, I receive a lot of response and confirmation. I started this petition based on the suggestion of another DW member. A different member reported that the chat function will delete a message in the middle of a reply. This is a serious, wide-spread issue.

I am proposing a significant upscaling of the DW's technological support, including recruiting as needed, and, just like Jeremy did for the Crowder contract, for the DW to be transparent about their current level of technological support, since clearly this is a weak point for them.

What is at stake?

Any conservative will know - it is not an overstatement to say that the fate of Western Civilization is at stake. Our families and children. Our economy and our jobs. Our culture and language. Everything.

Why is now the time to act?

As we approach 2024, this next election is critical. We must be able to rely on conservative voices. To do that, we must have all the basics covered in the functionality of the website and mobile apps.
