When it comes to celebrating our patron saint, St George, we find ourselves out of step with other nations in the UK. Both Scotland and Northern Ireland celebrate their patron saints with public bank holidays. So why should England be left behind?

St George's Day, celebrated on April 23rd. It follows the spirit of our English tradition, honouring our past. It is disheartening that in England, many are unable to unite in celebration as other commitments take precedence on this day.

By making St George's Day a bank holiday, we provide an opportunity not only to celebrate our heritage but also to stimulate local tourism and economy.
