I am a resident of Bells Corners, Nepean, Ottawa, ON, Canada. Every day I walk down Moodie Drive and feel less safe than I could. It's not just about me; it's about all of us who live here and want to enjoy our neighborhood.

Moodie Drive is a central part of our community but its current state is far from ideal. The road lacks adequate pedestrian infrastructure making it unsafe for walkers and cyclists alike.

We need to change this reality for our community members by making Moodie Drive safer and more walkable. This means implementing traffic calming measures, improving crosswalk visibility, adding bike lanes where possible, and ensuring sidewalks are well-maintained year-round.

Here are some mockups illustrating some of the potential changes that I see could be implemented.

The "Simple" version is meant to be a design that could be easily implemented without major restructuring. The "Ideal" version has slightly more transformative elements, but still does not require a complete rebuilding of the area.

Let's make Bells Corners a safer place to live in by transforming Moodie Drive into a street that prioritizes the safety of pedestrians over speed convenience for drivers. We deserve better than this – we deserve streets that are designed with the safety of residents in mind.
