Make Game Consoles Accessible for Cochlear Implant Users

Make Game Consoles Accessible for Cochlear Implant Users
The Issue
My name is Samuel Munro. Change.org user, and I have a cochlear implant. I utilize my PlayStation 5 regularly and love playing online games with my friends. However, due to the current setup, I'm unable to use headsets. This has inevitably denied me the joy and social interaction that most gamers enjoy effortlessly. The incapacity to utilize headphones with my cochlear implant has deprived me a significant part of the gaming experience.
Approximately 60,000 adults and 38,000 children in the U.S have cochlear implants (National Institute on Deafness and other Communication Disorders). It means thousands of game console users are facing a similar dilemma. These high figures highlight the need for game console manufacturers to cater to this segment of users and make gaming accessible for everyone. This number is even higher if you include the rest of the world. I am UK based with roughly 20,000 cochlear implant users.
We are pleading to major gaming console manufacturers, such as Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo, to make their products more accessible. Modifications to headsets that consider cochlear implants would not only enhance the gaming experience for myself but also for thousands of others dealing with similar issues. Or have the compatability to connect directly via Bluetooth to the implant which most newer models used have the capability. This would be a simple upgrade for players to include when the upgrade the system software on their chosen console.
Your signature on this petition could bring inclusivity a step closer for thousands of disabled gamers like myself. Please, sign and share this petition to make a difference. Please sign and make a difference to thousands of children and adults lives.
