I am doing this becuase through out my riding time i have built jumps in the bushland that council have knocked down, so far there has been a few jump parks added but they dont hit the sweet spot of big air time. So i am pushing the council to make bigger jumps while still being safe.

Give Brisbane MTB Riders a Proper Slopestyle Park at D.M. Henderson Park

 

We are asking Brisbane City Council to investigate creating a large, purpose-built MTB slopestyle section at D.M. Henderson Park in MacGregor.

 

Brisbane has a growing MTB and dirt-jump community, but riders need more facilities where they can safely progress from smaller jumps to advanced features.

 

We propose a professionally designed slopestyle area featuring:

 

- 🟫 Large wooden kickers, including features around 6 ft (1.8 m) tall

- 🟫 Properly shaped and maintained dirt landings

- 🚵 Beginner, intermediate and advanced lines

- 🔥 Larger slopestyle features for experienced riders

- 🦺 Safe run-outs and appropriate spacing

- 🌳 A facility designed to fit appropriately within the existing park

 

D.M. Henderson Park is already used for cycling and recreation and has the advantage of being close to public transport, including a nearby train station, making it more accessible to young riders and families who may not have a car.

 

We believe a professionally designed facility would give MTB riders a safe and legitimate place to ride, learn new skills and progress.

 

We ask Brisbane City Council to investigate the feasibility of this proposal and consult with local MTB riders when designing the facility.
