For too long, a portion of the Byron Bay locals have fought against fast food chains and large corporations. For too long has that portion of locals outspoken the rest of us who direly wish for an affordable, commercial restaurant that is open 7 days a week, or better yet 24/7.

If Wahlburgers is allowed to take over half of Mercato and large developments envelop the site of the old Woolworth's and the corner opposite Mitre 10, why shouldn't McDonald's be welcomed into the community? As a local, I know that both long-standing community members, as well as tourists and migrants from Syndey would be overjoyed by such a project.

Bring McDonald’s to Byron. It’s the right thing to do.
