URGENT HELP NEEDED
Found in the Saturday Press . Notice under the Resource Management by ECAN. There is an application from Mainpower and other Associated Companies to dam the Kakapo Brook in North Canterbury , take water from it for irrigation, store water, divert water for power generation...
The Kakapo Brook is an invaluable small Brook with little water, but rich in indigenous species, spawning stream for native species as well as brown trout.It will have a real impact on the Hope system.

There is no room for negotiation at all.Nothing from that application which is in conjunction with Mainpower but also Rooney Farms Limited, Rooney Holdings Limited, Kakapo Brook Joint Venture Ltd must be tolerated. Consequences for the fauna, flora, water downstream will be catastrophic. Please join me in opposing by all means such an application.
