Hello i never thought i would go as far as making a petition but this has been affecting me mentally because its a very big part of my life and is a huge loss financially and mentally for me and countless others who this has happened to. If i could explain in words how much this account and playstation means to me i would.

Granted not everybody is innocent but in this case i did no wrong and it was a very unnecessary reason to ban me. On July 16th 2022 i was banned after being targeted by a group of players i had beat in a game called “Rainbow Six Siege” that i play often and anyone who plays it knows how toxic players can be.

I was minding my business and after the game i decided to get on youtube meanwhile they begin to initiate and send toxic messages and constantly harass me so i defended myself without using vulgar threatening or offensive language which was not permanent ban worthy and was completely uncalled for. I said something along the lines of “Delete The Game Or Get Better”. Maybe i should’ve just ignored them and blocked them but we’re all human so you know how that goes.

It was an honest mistake we shouldn’t have to walk on eggshells when writing messages its unfair people can report you for anything.They must’ve all reported me at the same time thats the only way i can imagine i was banned even tho i was the victim. Its a lesson learned but it shouldn’t be a permanent one. I didn’t even get a warning or an email just a straight permanent ban. Nobody deserves a permanent ban unless it was a serious matter which this wasn’t at all. Nobody deserves all their purchases and content that they work hard for taken away forever its just not right. Playstation/Sony’s business practices are very flawed and wrong something has to be done. Too many customers losing money it’s outrageous.

I had called customer support countless times and they couldn’t even explain to me the reason to my permanent ban or what i said to warrant the ban other than theres nothing they can do and to just create a new account like it’s nothing which i know is an absolute lie. I eventually got a support representative who actually cared and listened to me and thought my situation was unfair so she was nice enough to put in an escalation appeal to the moderation team for me and told me to expect an email by monday or tuesday the latest which I didn’t get.

As a playstation/sony customer/supporter all my life it is truly heartbreaking that they can just take away my thousands of dollars worth of games and content, 15+  years of progress\trophies on my account and my friends etc. all down the drain all for some harmless messages defending myself against a group of bullies? I don’t think sony understands or cares how this affects people by just taking it all away. It honestly feels like they took a piece of me away.

I did not try to break terms of service or do anything to warrant this permanent ban. The messages were not serious to deserve a lifetime ban. I didn’t even get an email about it i had got on the next day and found out. I was heartbroken and almost sick when i saw that nightmare of a message when tried to sign in i couldn’t believe it i still cant.

Playstation/Sony does not understand all the work and money people put into their accounts a permanent ban is too harsh especially for someone who had no malicious intent. Permanent bans shouldn’t even be a thing unless you’re using your account for illegal activity such as cheating, hacking, scamming, fraud etc. I’ve been seeing and hearing about more and more people getting permanently banned for small reasons everyday. If you’re a hardcore gamer or just love video games then you understand.

Playstation moderators need to take more consideration. The banning system is very flawed and abused and it punishes players without any regard to context. This just pushes customers and potential customers away I honestly don’t know how to put into words how much this hurts and affects me and i wouldn’t know what to do if i never got my playstation account back its a huge part of my life and for sony to take that away is devastating. I also have a condition that doesn’t allow me to go outside often so losing my account doesn’t help but it makes things worse for me. I have way too much invested into my account. My life has been empty without it. Its where i go to play and socialize with friends its my safe haven and sony took it away over an honest innocent mistake. As a loyal playstation alumni this is heartbreaking.

My resolution is that someone at playstation/sony sees this and can understand and have empathy for my situation and they unban my account. I just want my account ban lifted and i want to be able to play with with my friends again and have my collection of games and trophies. I want my account back i want my life back. I need someone at playstation/sony who cares and understands the value of its customers to look into this. I don’t mean any harm to anyone in the playstation community i just wanna play in peace. Playstation/Sony if you see this i beg of you please understand my situation and give me my account back please you don’t understand how much pain  and inconvenience this has caused me.
