I'm 61 years old and unfortunately, my health no longer allows me to work. I'm certainly not alone in this predicament. Many of my peers are facing similar challenges, living with the strain of not being able to continue in employment due to age-related health issues. It is unjust that we, as hard-working citizens who have contributed to society for decades, should be expected to continue working beyond the age of 60. The current pension age prolongs the stress and hardship for those who simply cannot maintain employment due to health reasons.
Restoring the pension age back to 60 offers a humane and logical solution to a growing problem. Not only would this change provide much-needed relief to those who are struggling, but it would also open the doors to employment for younger generations. Recent statistics show that youth unemployment remains a significant issue, with thousands of capable young people unable to find jobs.
