For all my Long Grove community members and other nearby friends, we need to stop this shooting range/gun shop from opening here.

The Long Grove Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals is hearing a petition from Range USA to open a shooting range in Long Grove behind the Menards at Lake Cook and Route 53. Part of the range will include a shop that will sell all kinds of guns including assault style weapons,including AR-15’s. Last night the PCZBA was evenly split on the issue and voted to hold off its recommendation to the board until 9/6 so they could hear from residents.

There are 5 school districts  with more than 15 schools in the Village of Long Grove that will immediately become less safe if we allow the opening of a new gun range/gun store. 

Please email Greg Jackson at gjackson@longgroveil.gov and/or please plan on attending the next meeting on 9/6 at 7pm, place tba, if you agree with me that we do not want a shooting range or gun shop that sells assault weapons in Long Grove.
