"No" Vote to AB 2343. Please do not sell shelter dogs and cats for any reason; it will put them in danger of vivisection, testing etc

HSUS's lobbyist, Jennifer Fearing has proposed legislation in California to amend the state's shelter standards. If passed, it would allow shelters to give dogs and cats to be sold for any reason whatsoever. People will not be able to reclaim their lost dogs and cats if the animals do not have identification (how sad). These animals can be adopted out or given to for-profit companies right away.
What AB 2343 fails to notice, is that the primary functions and mandates of a taxpayer funded, municipal animal shelter is: to provide a safe haven for the lost animals of local people and a place where they can go to find them. Since their taxes pay for these services, human families deserve the right to reclaim their companions.
By not reuniting the lost animals with their human families is unfair.
By selling shelter animals for whatever reason is like intentionally and consciously removing them from a safe place and putting their lives in danger.
Please save our animals friends.
