Dear friends of Sea-Eye,

a long mission now has a happy ending!

The SEA-EYE 4 entered the port of Augusta in Sicily at noon today and all 106 rescued people were allowed to go ashore. This means that this mission, although it had quite the rocky start can now be concluded with a happy ending. At the beginning of this mission, the crew fought their way through heavy seas on their way from Spain to the area of operations with the intention of arriving as quickly as possible in order to be able to assist people in need.

A Ukrainian captain of the merchant ship KARINA soon asked the SEA-EYE 4 for support. He and his crew had rescued 32 people from acute danger to life, but his merchant ship was not fit for taking good care of so many people. The SEA-EYE 4 therefore took over the people and was called to the next emergency shortly thereafter. 74 people were in distress while fleeing the civil war in Libya. During the rescue operation that followed, the crew was able to safely take everyone on board.

Today we are happy that the 106 rescued people have found safe ground under their feet and we hope that they can now begin a life of peace, safety and freedom in the European Union.

The SEA-EYE 4 will soon start its next rescue mission again, please donate now to make this mission possible.

Yours, Gorden Isler
- Chairman of Sea-Eye e. V.
