Darlington is an English town with lots of history and it welcomes people from all ethnic back grounds and religion, especially those that integrate into our way of life and beliefs.

According to the statistics for the Demographic spread in Darlington http://localstats.co.uk/census-demographics/england/north-east/darlington only 0.9% are Muslim, therefore there is no need or requirement for Nando's to use Halal meat from an animal which is killed in an inhumane way. There are plenty of places already available for our Muslim community to buy and eat Halal meat.

UPDATE - This is NOT about HALAL restaurants - What I want is for Darlington to remain a typical proud British town, to accept changes and to cater for the other race and religions, but let’s not force the religions of others onto the majority of the town folk who are not of that type. There are various different religious places of worship for the individual types, Mosques, Synagogues, Catholic churches, C of E etc, as I state in the Petition, Darlington already has places where Halal is served, that should suffice….how about we also start teaching the Islamic ways in our churches also, because that is basically the same…………Don’t force something the people don’t want onto the people
