India must be permanent member of UN Security Council &NSG, according to our capabilities.
The Issue
1. World peace,
India is always being peaceful nation and peace keeper. So India is a rightful nation which should get its seat among permanent members.
India is a third largest and a regular constant contributor of troops to UN Peacekeeping missions. The foreign policy magazine states that "India's International identity has long been shaped by its role in UN peacekeeping force, with more than 100,000 Indian troops having served in UN missions during the past 50 years.Today,India has 8,500 peacekeepers in the field, more than twice as many as the UN's five big powers combined."
2. Harmony in brotherhood
India never used its power to evil purpose or for selfish purpose or to overthrow its enemies. This again proves India a rightful nation to have its seat reserved among permanent members.
3. We can defense the terrorism
Terrorism is a major aspect of international attention. Being a victim and having the capability to help in the war against terrorism India has a major role to play against terrorism. It can take effective step to control Terror manufacture from any country.
4. Unity of the world
It has the backing of some major players (France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States--or President Obama, anyway), a number of European, Asian, and Latin American nations, and the African Union too.
5. To link all countries in the direction of growth
India is also the second most populous country country and has a booming economy which in the future will be an epicenter for economic transactions. The membership will be of vital importance for these purposes.
6. Recognition: Once you are a permanent member you will come into top few recognized countries. Every will listen to you whatever and whenever you speaks.
7. Veto Power: This is main power you get for becoming permanent member. With this you can be a part of decision taken by UN which might not good for any country. (United Nations Security Council veto power)
8. Security: Permanent members of UN don't have to worry more about their security as they have army of many countries backing them. These are very powerful factors and will help India a lot in its development.
9. It's the world's largest democracy with a population that will eventually eclipse that of China.
The Counter-Terrorism Committee is a subsidiary body of the United Nations Security Council.
The Military Staff Committee (MSC) is the United Nations Security Council subsidiary body whose role, as defined by the United Nations Charter, is to plan UN military operations and assist in the regulation of armaments.
Currently the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, also known as the Permanent Five, Big Five, or P5, include the following five governments: China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
India is striving hard to get a membership in the UN security council,as part of it's strategy to get a permanent status India is playing a very active role in maintaining good bilateral relations with nations who are supporting for a permanent membership for India.Providing financial aids to countries like Afghanistan,Burundi,Myanmar etc. to get support from these nations, and India's role among the ASEAN,SAARC,BRICS countries is also important to get this coveted status and thus join the 5 permanent countries in UN security council.
Yes I am also not convinced with many decesion taken by UN. But one must understand despite of whatever people think about UN, Its a very powerful organization.
Aid and assistance: This is one of the major advantages a country gets from being part of the United Nations organization. In the event that the country is plagued with a major disaster such as a major earthquake, tsunami or flood, the UN would not hesitate for a moment sending help to the country.
Economical development of the nation: A nation that is a member of the United Nations stands to benefit greatly through the United Nation’s special agencies, the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF). For example, a country that is part of the United Nations can have access to loans from the World Bank which can be used to develop the country and boost the country’s economy. This sadly cannot be enjoyed by a country that is not a member of the United Nations. The IMF also gives UN member nations emergency loans. This is mostly given to indebted countries.
Strengthening of the health sector of a country: The United Nations helps member nations to strengthen their health sectors. The UN does this mainly through its very famous agency, the World Health Organization (WHO). Member countries – especially the poor ones end up benefiting greatly from some of the objectives of the WHO such as the eradication of the child mortality, maternal health and the fight against HIV/AIDS and malaria. Thanks to the WHO from the United Nations, many member countries in places such as Africa, Asia and certain parts of South America have been able to curb the menace of HIV/AIDS through the resources and logistics giving to them by the World Health Organization to promote health.
Strengthening of human rights within the country: Any country that joins the United Nations is bound by the rules and principles of the UN. One of the basic rules and principles of the UN is that all member countries must respect the fundamental human rights of all. As a result of this, human rights is greatly strengthened in the country. Protecting the human rights of people regardless of their race, sex, or religion plays a very important role in deepening the democracy of a country. This is another benefit that a country derives from being a member of the UN
