Let your kids be kids! 

Like you, I just found out that my grade 1 student has been given LGBTQ+ books to read in school. And likely been the same in SK. In our family, we teach our kids to love and respect all people, regardless of race, disabilities, etc by modelling it, and has been proven to be effective. Children do not need to get into the complexities that these subjects present. 

These topics should be reserved for parents explaining to their children on their own terms, and time. It’s highly inappropriate to be teaching these matters, when the majority of this age is not even fully literate. 

Parents that would like to be notified when books are being read, so they can be exempted, are not allowed! And these programs are not to be censored!! (Per the gov’ts direction) 

Kids need to know that everyone deserves respect and love, but children at this age cannot grasp adult situations in depth.

Our kids are only kids for such a small blip in time. They are impressionable, and delicate humans. 
**please keep our schools a safe place, and make conventional learning a top priority again!!
