Let us students have our headphones back.

Let us students have our headphones back.
The Issue
As a member of Dayton Public Schools, and having been a student for several years now, the school policies have been regulated. However, the school system has taken things to another level. We have not been allowed access to our phones, which is understandable, but now they are banning the use of headphones in school. Some students, myself included, are somewhat required access to them, for several reasons. So that we can listen to music, allowing us to focus on our schooling better, so that we can listen to music to keep us mentally calm and stable, so that we can watch videos to study, and several more. The website YouTube has already been banned, as have every other music app and website. Some students have limited access to YouTube, as granted by network administrators because of College Credit Plus programs, where we need to be able to watch videos to complete some of our assignments. However, with this new ban, those students cannot complete their work without disrupting another's class. Those students, myself included, cannot focus on their work because they cannot do what helps them focus and stay calm. This is a problem that will not take long to become known, and it is my hope that the schools rectify this before it becomes a larger issue to rectify.
