Let the Salmon Live: Approve Oregon’s Plan to Save Them Now.

Let the Salmon Live: Approve Oregon’s Plan to Save Them Now.
The Issue
For generations, wild salmon have fought their way up the rivers of the Pacific Northwest — feeding bears, eagles, orcas, and entire communities along the way. But today, those salmon are disappearing. Some species are already gone forever, and many more are close to it.
Now, Oregon and a group of conservation organizations are asking a federal court to approve simple, science-backed changes to how the big dams on the Columbia and Snake Rivers are run. These changes, like lowering water levels in reservoirs and allowing more water to spill over the dams, can help salmon move safely through the rivers on their journey to the sea and back again.
It’s not about destroying dams. It’s about giving life a fair chance to keep going.
These rivers once held one of the world’s largest salmon runs. They are the heart of the ecosystem, feeding not just people, but also endangered orcas, forests, and countless other species that rely on them. Every year fewer fish return, and without urgent action, the wild salmon that define the Pacific Northwest could vanish in our lifetime.
The government walked away from an agreement meant to protect these fish. Now the courts are the last hope to make sure this plan goes forward.
We’re calling on the U.S. District Court to approve Oregon’s proposed dam operation changes immediately, before more salmon are lost forever.
Let’s stand with the fish that feed the land, the tribes who honor them, and the people who love them.
Sign now to say: let the salmon live.
